Talented Friend: Stacie Dale
Stacie Dale is an illustrator and surface designer with a focus on birds and botanicals. She grew up in Audubon, Pennsylvania surrounded by nature preserves and the home of John James Audubon where she discovered her love of birds and horticulture. You can view her most recent work on her illustration website or on her Instagram.
Stacie has written and illustrated her own children's book: Songbird Stories, Tales from the Pennsylvania Woods: Coming Home which is available for purchase on Amazon and on her retail website. She has also illustrated children's books for other independent authors and teaches in-person classes on colored pencil botanical illustration.
In addition to her creative pursuits, Stacie is the editor of Surface Design News, a monthly subscription e-newsletter focusing on aspects of the surface design industry. Stacie can be reached at info@staciedaledesigns.com

Draw Cute, Professional Hand Lettering: Procreate Illustration for Beginners
Let's face it, hand lettering is hard. Achieving a professional yet whimsical and "hand done" look with lettering art takes practice.
But, I found a shortcut, and I want to share it with you!
In this bite-sized class, I'm going to show you how I use a flat writing brush to create hand lettered art that looks fun, but is also readable and polished. The class is short and sweet, so you can learn the same tricks I use, and get started immediately.
You can use the same brush I use in the class (and for a lot of my art) by purchasing my Procreate Drawing Brush Box for only $10, or you can use your own. If you use your own, to achieve the same look, you'll want to find a brush with even thickness in each stroke.

I’m selling products!
I’m delighted to announce that I’m now selling my own products through my new Etsy shop and in a local boutique in Atlanta, GA! I adore dogs and cats, and I also know dog and cat illustrations are big sellers all year round, so I’m focusing on fun and and punny dog and cat art. I’ve created stickers, magnets, t-shirts, and more.
There’s nothing that says “I believe in my art sales potential” better than selling my own products. I license my art to companies large and small, but by producing and selling my own art on products, I’m also conveying the message to companies I pitch that I back my own products so much so that I print and stock products with my art on them. I’m willing to put my own money where my mouth is, so-to-speak ;)
I recently came up with this funny piece called Reach for the Stars, and let me tell you, it’s been selling like hotcakes in my Etsy shop! I ordered button magnets with this design and they’ve been flying out the door, so yay!
